Video: Happy Birthday to Me

On my birthday this year I had some spare time so I decided to make a slideshow of photos and videos from all the years past. Well, all the years that show up on my Amazon Photos ‘Look Back at This Day” section, that is. So basically from 2006-2020 with a few years left out or represented by a single cupcake photo. I added in a few snapchat videos over the years to spice it up a little bit too, and I was so excited to post it up on my birthday.

My video software had other ideas, however. I use Adobe Rush lately to make all these videos and I tried everything and then some to get the mash-up to render properly, but all the video clips for some reason were showing up very wonky. I even tried editing it in Premiere Pro on my actual computer, but I still could not make it work and by that point my birthday was nearly over and I was just done with the whole thing, so I just wrote it off.

Fast forward to yesterday, I downloaded my latest phone update. I have been pretty much horribly sick since Christmas so I haven’t been able to even think of editing any photos or video, but today as it’s the end of the year I decided hey, I wonder how bad it looks, maybe I can just upload it anyway. Well, the video was very bad, but somehow when I went back into Rush it looked ok! So I exported it again and voila – it actually looked great! The update must have done some magic.

So there you have it, a quick video mash-up of about 20ish random years in a semi-random order of my birthdays past. Maybe next year I will make a more polished version, but after all the work I did on my birthday this year, I’m very chuffed with it. I know I’ll love looking back on this on birthday mornings to come and I can tell it will make me smile and feel very nostalgic in the future, especially since next year is the big 4-0!
